Belmond Reid’s Palace.
A grand hotel by the Atlantic Ocean
The Austrian Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) holidayed here and there is also a suite which marks the visit by Winston Churchill. Belmond Reid’s Palace on the island of Madeira is one of the grand hotels which wrote history. The resort was founded in 1891 in Funchal as a luxury residence for Brits sick of the wind and rain and it remains a top-class address to this day. Today it offers travellers various personalised packages ranging from wellness to sailing trips and from tennis to sea fishing.
